In 1993 we carried out the first 3-Schools-Project, in 1997
the second. Also the third in 2004 will be with the Hiko Mizuno College Tokyo, the Sandberg Institute Amsterdam and the
Academy of Fine Arts Munich.
The specific theme for the 2004 program is that the artists are challenged to realize their "own vision" of the presentation of their artwork as well as of their idea of how to use the printed and electronic media (web-sites, CDrom, video).
The "3-Schools-Project" is by now a worldwide recognized event which lives on not only through the excellent books published on the occassions of the exhibitions but also through the intense and lively exchange between the former participants and the institutions.
The exhibition will be the center-piece of the project surrounded by workshops and conferences. The exhibition focuses on showing contemporary and artistically relevant pieces of jewellery which challenge and explore this particular media.
Since jewellery is fullfilling it´s real function only if the pieces
are worn, the use of all possible medias that demonstrate and document the function of the exhibits shall be used.
From the last two projects we know that the participants learn and benfit from each other, but also from working and living together in this three countries with totally different cultures.
The tradition and the contemporary use of jewellery are very diverse in each of this three cities.
